Hey, Larry, here's what you do. After you have set the time on the watch, just turn the winding crown so that the minute hand moves anti-clockwise. This will cause the second hand to stop ticking. Keep the tension against the minute hand until you reach the desired time that you want to set the watch by.
If you do this when the second hands is at the 12 o'clock position, then you can adjust the minute hand slightly so that the minute hand will always be on the minute marker on the dial when the second hand passes the 12.Does that make sense? Even I can barely understand it.
