Re: Omega watches at Costco?

: Does anybody know how Costco is able to sell
: these watches?

They get them from gray market sources.

: Are these gray market watches?

Yes, that should be pretty apparent. If they are not an authorized dealer, they can only then be a gray market dealer. There are no other options.

: Are these watches supported by Omega?

No, sames as with all gray market watches.

: I had always thought of Omega as a
: rather exclusive brand.

As well you should.

: Does selling through
: a wholesale club that competes with Sam's
: Club, Wal Mart and Target dilute the
: reputation of the Omega brand?

The whole gray market does. But this is nothing new or surprising. You can find Brietling, Rolex, JLC, Patek and other really top brands at Costco. The gray market knows no bounds because it operates outside the manufacturer's network of control.

OMEGA and all these other brands have nothing direct to do with selling through Costco or any gray market dealer. That's why it is the gray market -- they are watches that have leaked out of the authorized dealer network.
