In reading some of the posts in here, I see references comparing Omega and Rolex as far as prestige, price, and overall image. I'm curious as to what other people's opinions are, particularly on overall image. My own take on this is that it's an apple and orange debate, and the two aren't even close to each other. If you want the major BLING factor you need a Rolex for sure. When the subject turns from luxury to durability, however, Omega is the first name that comes to my mind. Ellen is pretty much the ultimate proof of that fact with her voyages into the deep Southern Oceans. I'm unaware of any particular reputation that a Rolex is what you want when you're putting your life on the line in the worst conditions and environment in the world.
Omega, on the other hand, appears to be JUST what you want in those circumstances, along with a high level image and reputation. Are the people in here wearing an Omega for this reason, or is it something else?
