Re: SMP or Speedmaster
In Response To: SMP or Speedmaster ()

: Hi,
: I am still in doubt between a Seamaster and
: Speedmaster (not to speak of the different
: available versions of each model making it
: even harder to choose :)
: Since I will not wear the watch on a daily
: basis, I wonder if it is wise to buy the
: SMP, I will have to unscrew the crown every
: time I want to wear it (at least to set the
: time - a winder is not an option, neither is
: quartz). The screw down crown may not be up
: to that.
: Sense or nonsense?
: Thanks in advance for your thoughts and
: comments.

I have 2 seamasters and a speedmaster. Although you cant really go wrong with an omega, i would recommend a seamaster, as i think that they are a lot more flexible than a speedmaster.

What i mean by this is that they are very robust watches which can are equally at home on a beach / sportsfield as under a suit or a tuxedo. Furthermore SMP are chronometer certified whereas only a few of speedmaster are that. Dont get me wrongm, i like my speedmaster, but i think for flexibility and design i would go for an SMP. Have you thought about AT seamaster.. these have co-axial movement and are slightly dressier than SMP, but also very togh and waterproof to 150m?
hope this helps..no doubt others on forum will make a convincing case for opposite side of argument.. you cant go wrong either way.
