Re: Semaster Storage
In Response To: Semaster Storage ()

: Need some advice. I own a 4 yr old Seamaster
: Pro. Automatic. I was wondering what would
: happen if I decided to store it in original
: box for say a year or so. Any suggestions,
: as I don't want to harm the watch.

It would just sit there and patiently wait for you. What harm do you think could possibly happen with is sitting quietly on a cushy pillow in a box in a safe place? The watch is designed to knock around on your wrist for years of use. A pillow and the dark are no threat to it.

Any stories you hear of needing to keep a mechanical watch running to keep the lubrication distributed are old pre-World War II tales. Modern lubricants (meaning since WWII) do not have that problem. But for some odd reason, the stories like that continue to be told.
