Not all older cases had the backs marked -- some may have markings only on the inside. Also, some older watches may have had the case backs replaced some time in the past.

The best available is 'Omega Designs' by Anton Kreuzer. But since there are literally thousands of Omega models made over the years, no book can begin to have comprehensive information on all the possible models made.
