Well i'm not sure what possessed me to open my vinatge auto today but I'm glad I did. To make the story short I've acquired a vintage omega from the 1980's. The watch is beautiful and I wanted some more info about it. So I've contacted Omega and after 3 long months they finally responded with a statement that only now after looking at the movement has me worried. Because they could not match the case ref numbers to the movement or vise versa, not only it was impossible for them to confirm authenticity of my watch but they politely suggested that it may have been "modified" or changed in some way. At that point I simply have igonered that assumption. Today while looking at the movement, I've noticed that movement serial numbers are on the some kind of clear or transparent sticker???THey are not embossed or etched into it like the 1020 caliber numbers on the same plate. Everything else seems to be in place--like the seventeen jewlels swiss sign and omega sign on the rotor. DOes any one have the 1020 caliber pictures for me to look at? I hope you guys can help me.
And here are some pics of the watch:
