: Few Questions: First, I have a two year old
: Seamaster 300M Pro with the ETA 1120
: movement. It loses about 6 - 7 seconds a
: day. Not a big deal and I've gotten accustom
: to it and I set my watch a minute ahead
: every 10 days or so. How much trouble would
: it be to bring it in to have someone adjust
: it? How much should it cost? What's the risk
: of them adjusting the movement, so that it's
: timing is even further off?
Your watch is technically out of the COSC spec of -4/+6 seconds per day. A competent watchmaker should easily be able to regulate it for you for about $25 or so. I had this done to my Bond SMP a few months back and it now keeps near perfect time. Just be sure to take it to someone with expereince regulating high end watches.
: Second, I have a 6 year old Speedmaster Triple
: Day/Date and want to have a routine service,
: oiled, buffed, etc. What would be a fair
: price for an authorized Omega dealer to
: charge?
The dealer won't service the watch unless they happen to have a qualified watchmaker working for them. As it is due for servicing, I would send it back to the Omega factory in Bienne, Switzerland. This way you'll be sure to get the proper service from factory trained technicians.
