mamas,

I've done a little digging and come across the following:

http://www.directly2u.co.uk/customs.html

There's a little bit at the bottom about watches - the duty is almost negligible (67 pence) but there would still be the usual 17.5% VAT charge.

You would have to order online from a non-authorised dealership, thus forfeiting Omega's warranty and, since ordering from abroad, any dealer specific warranty as well.

The advantage is that you'll get a 30% discount from a non-authorised dealer, which, combined with the exchange rate, more that covers the VAT and the $70 shipping charge.

I’ve already emailed The Watchery (www.thewatchery.com) and they still have the watch in stock (however be careful to read their shipping notes as they only insure packages up to $500).

Good luck,

James
