The Lemania 861 handwound chrono movement is an older (roughly 1968), but very durable and well respected movement. Many of the older chrono movements, especially the handwound ones, don't hack. These things were made to be very tough, NOT spot on accurate. They were meant to survive the harsh conditions of space and Astronaut training. While it would be nice if they hacked, they were not designed that way and it is part of their charm. You bought a very nice watch that has a legendary movement; I would enjoy it for what it is, instead of thinking about what it is not. Congrats on a great watch purchase!
