Just back from the Islands

I just got back from St. Thomas, which probably has one of the highest density watch shopping areas on the planet. Every third shop in a ten block area sells jewelry and brand name watches. The variety and some of the high end "one of a kinds" are truly remarkable. Found about 5 places that sells Omegas, and Rolex has one of their home store locations there, along with the 32nd Rolex cup regatta which runs next week. Finally got to see a Rolex Submariner in both SS and Gold - Neither were something that I would trade my Ti Seamaster for. Oddly enough, I didn't see another Ti SeMP down there. They are even rarer than I thought, although the vulture-like jewelers that run the stores down there all seemed to recognize the telltale gray color of what I was wearing and pretty much left me alone.

Other than that, I took my Ti SeMP down to 30 feet checking the set of my anchor (only 970 more to go!), got it covered with beach sand, coral sand, lots of salt, and spanged it off two Lewmar winches and a 60 foot B&G rig mast on a 37 foot sailboat. Still looks great and works the same.

Now I'm back at work and it's 10 degrees outside here in Minnesota. (:< Oh well, at least I still have a nice watch!
