A few “newbie” questions

I am very new to the premium watch world. I want to buy my brother a nice watch for his upcoming graduation and had a few questions as I begin the process:

Does anyone know what the list price is for a Seamaster 300 M Diver Chronometer and a Aqua Terra Chronometer (both in steel)?

Is it true that an authorized dealer can only (in general) go as low as 20% of list price?

Is it common to negotiate a price at the retailer or do you just look for dealers that have a mark down displayed?

Finally (and I may get some heat for this one), but if I buy a “grey market” watch, will an authorized dealer repair it at all? I know I will not get warranty coverage, but assuming I think the money saved upfront more than offsets the (price of repair in the first year) x (the likelihood of failure in 2 years), why not go with a “grey.” If an authorized repair center wont touch the watch, then I understand.

Can anyone recommend a dealer? I am in CT if it matters.

Thanks in advance for any answers.
