In my opinion, the only two major differences between Omega and Tag Heuer are design, and that Omega uses in-house movements instead of ETA movements like Tag Heuer. In-house movements are not necessarily better, but personally, I prefer to get a complete watch that is manufactured completely at one company, instead of a watch that has components built in from a different party. Besides, you can find other not so popular watch brands that use the same ETA ebauche movements which are also used in Tag Heuers, but only for a fraction of the cost. Just my opinion.
