Probably would be smart for you to first buy an *economical* rubber strap and try it for a little bit. Some guys like the rubber straps, other really don't like the feel of them. So far smarter to try out a $20 one before spending $200+ on the official OMEGA one. You can find all kinds of inexpensive rubber straps on eBay.

Leather straps work fine. Just make sure you get a thick one to help balance the weight and size of the watch head. Also sharkskin straps are a nice touch on diving watches.
