Re: Grey market Dealers
In Response To: Re: Grey market Dealers ()

I tried to buy my SMP from a local authorized dealer, but the only one that had the model I was looking for would only discount 10%. I ended up doing research and bought from a grey market internet dealer(please don't jump on me either!)who had a 100% positive feedback from e-bay.

I ordered the watch at about 2:00PM one afternoon and was wearing it by 9:30AM the next morning! The serial number was much higher than the one at the authorized dealer's. It came without a scratch with the factory protect seals, box, warranty card, COSC cert, etc. I couldn't be happier.

Sure, I probably took a chance. I just couldn't justify paying over $500 more plus tax for a 2 yr warranty. It's been about 6 months and so far so good. I have faith in the 1120 movement for the next year and a half.

Anyway, I am not advising or discouraging going grey market. I did notice though that the authorized dealers in my area had little selection and were unwilling to deal. I'm not sure that any watch company would have an easy time policing the grey market dealers, including Omega.
