: Question: I know there was a problem with some
: models of the GMT and the hand changing. How
: often would the hand mistakenly loose/gain
: an hour? less then five months?
This was a problem on the early models, from 1998. I've never heard of it happening on a newer model. It is possible that although you bought yours new (I assume from an AD) it was actually New Old Stock, meaning it has been sitting around for several years in the store without selling. Question: did it have the newer Speedmaster-style bracelet, or the older Bond-style bracelet with the gold colored clasp. If it had the Speedmaster clasp it is probably a new model and shouldn't have the problem; if it is the other, it might be from the first batch and have this problem. I don't think Omega recalled them, just waited for problems to happen. The good news is that if it is from the bad batch and you bought it from an authorized dealer, it will be covered under waranty, as the warranty starts from the date of purchase, not manufacture.
: Is it possible that I nudged it when advancing
: the hour, or date?
This is possible if you changed the time by moving the crown to the third possition and stopping the movement. In this position ALL the hands move, including the GMT hand. In the second position, only the hour hand moves. Are you sure you only changed the time-zone and date with the crown in the second position? If you are sure, then you should contact Omega Service.
: Looking forward to some assistance! Thanks!
