:I keep the accuracy of my SM (cal 1120)to within +/-2 secs daily simply by the way i park it at night (after weeks of experimentation). I check its performance weekly with an accurate time source and start from there: dial up to gain 3 to 4 secs, crown right to lose a couple etc. Its fun "balancing" my watch this way but this applies only to my watch and its more than 5 years old.
I wear it 12 hours or so on weekdays and it sits on a winder on weekends. After 3 months of use i give it a rest of 3 to 4 weeks and let the other watches some wrist time. I then give it a good 30 to 40 winds once its back on line. i have a peculiar but hopefully not strange watch habit...
