I stopped at the Omega counter at Macy's a few weeks ago to see if they had any mid-size Seamaster (2252.50) because I've had my eye out for one for quite a while. Although I've purchased other watches over the internet with good result, I didn't want to do this with an Omega because I wanted to make sure I got an authentic Omega WITH serial number etc.
The salesperson told me that although they didn't have the model in stock, he would be able to special order it, and gave me a great price, AND the option of paying for it via interest-free payments. He said it would take probably a week, maybe two. I'm in week three and now he says it may take four to six weeks.
Before he ordered the watch, he contacted Omega (or the distributor) in order to make sure they had the watch since Macy's management won't allow him to sell something that doesn't exist. Okay, so the distributor has the watch and I want it on my wrist.
Has anyone here purchased an Omega like this? How long did you have to wait? Any tips on expediting delivery?
Here's a pic of what I'm waiting for:
