Let me check in with my tuppence on this issue.

Bought my 2531.80.00 on 18 Mar 1999. Shortly afterwards I discovered it was running -4 to 5 sec a day, to which I adopted a "wait and see" attitude. By just before Christmas it had deteriorated to -8 sec/day, every day, like clockwork (no pun intended). This I was unwilling to put up with from a chronometer rated movement, since it seemed it would only continue to get worse. The last week in Feb I sent the watch in through my dealer to have it corrected within the warranty period.

Well I got it back Tues 3/21, and so far could not be happier. It gained three seconds over the first 36 hours, and has been dead solid perfect over the last couple of days. We shall see.

Basically, the moral of my particular story is that your watch probably won't get any better. IF you bought it through an authorized dealer, you should have them send it in for regulation before the Omega warranty period is up.

If you bought "grey market" (which you definitely did if you bought it thru anybody's website), get in touch with the person who sold it to you (Omega won't provide free warranty service unless it was purchased through an authorized dealer).

Good luck!

Mike
