Hello. Currently in Oslo, 4th country in 16 days on business. (Shudder) Been browsing Omega watches in stores in Germany, Zurich, and Sweden. My original 2296.80 disaster had kind of a funny postscript in the Munich airport, as I found THAT EXACT WATCH in a case, and it appeared to have a BLACK wave dial, so it was an orphan 2296.50. The store didn't have a listing for it in the catalog, so it really was the last survivor. Found a 2298.80 in Goteburg Sweden, which was my second choice, but already had my 2293.52. It was about 4,200 at the current exchange rate. (Ouch!) There appear to be some strays in Europe that never make it over to the US, which is probably good. The 9 link bands look different over here too.
Derek: We hardly got to know ye... May you rest in peace.
