...you can change the date either forward or backward at ANY TIME of day or night. On a regular watch you can only change the date forward and you shouldn't do it between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.
The Seamaster GMT is real GMT, i.e., you can move its hour hand pretty fast in steps of one hour, without disturbing the minute hand and the second hand. For each two turns of the hour hand, either backward or forward, the date will change one day, either backward or forward. It's pretty handy, easy and fast.
