AD = Authorized Dealer.

My guess is that the AD my parents went to wanted to get rid of his 2054.50.

My recommendation would be to buy the 2254.50 and buy the bracelet separately. You should have no problem either trading the new style bracelet for the Bond one (see the sales forum here and timezone.com's Sales Corner) or selling the new style bracelet for (provided it's unused) close to or the same as what the Bond bracelet cost you.
