I'm in Honolulu where it's always hot and humid (not that I'm complaining). There shouldn't be a "grating" noise coming out of any watch, let alone new Omega. "Whirring" and some "clicking" are okay, but no "grating." You might want to go to a watch shop and compare it with the sound of the same model. If there is something wrong with the bearing on the rotor, it wouldn't affect time keeping. And if it's only 2 months old, it would be repaired under warranty.
: I have a 2 month old SMP. Runs like a peach,
: not too fast or too slow, so far nothing to
: complain about.
: Over the past week here in the UK, we have had
: unseasonably hot and humid weather. This may
: or may not be a factor.
: Just today, i put the watch on my wrist and
: everytime i move my wrist, the rotor in the
: back makes a strange kind of grating noise,
: as if it is rubbing against something, or
: there is some friction. It really does feel
: as if it is grinding against something and
: does not feel that it is swinging smoothly.
: The noise is not one the watch has ever made
: before.
: Should I be concerned, or have I just never
: noticed this noise before?
: - Many thanks
