: Can anyone tell me about the Seamaster 2230.50
: this watch seems to have the face I want
: with the bezel I like is it a current model?
: Any info you can give me would be great

This is not a current model. If memory serves me correctly, I saw one at a local Omega retailer last summer in their clearance case. I assume it has been discontinued.

The 2231.50 is a titanium watch that has the titanium bezel with the black face. Omega doesn't currently make a stainless counterpart to this combination. I do agree with you, though, that the black dial would look good with a stainless bezel.

Omega will not sell you a bezel directly, but they will sell one to an authorized retailer. You can buy the black 2254.50 model and have a competent watchmaker swap bezels, but make sure you keep the original bezel. When you swap bezels you are creating a "frankenwatch" that has no current catalog number, so if you ever go to sell the watch or have it serviced Omega will need to see it in its original condition with the original bezel.
