First of all sorry to hear about Derek, I have enjoyed chronocentric for many years. God Bless.
I'm the proud new owner of SMP 2541.80, (again) for me this is a return to a classic, I bought this watch had to be close to 10 years ago as my first, 'good' watch, since then I've rounded the gambit as an often obsessive WIS, Rolex Exp. 1, Exp. 2, Sub, SD, 2531.80, SMP black face a couple of times, IWC AT, and I return to the simple quartz SMP.
It's the color, the sword hands, the bracelet, the red tipped second hand, the dial texture... so much draw to this watch for me...
OK here's my questions.
1) Has anyone seen a pic of the Omega cal. 1538? As a quartz, I'm sure it's nothing fancy, but I'm curious.
2) I seem to remember these dials having a tendency to "bleach" in the sun, is that still an issue?
3) The bezel moves much more easily than I remember, is this a better design or do I have good luck w/ this particular watch?
4) The back of the watch had an Omega sticker that said something like battery 12 09 does that mean when the battery is due for changing? I thought it was a 36 month battery - 12 09 is like 4+ years from now...
Thanks all Omega friends.
