I agree with most of the other posts and not buy a replica. Be patient and start saving. I own a SMP but was 31 yrs old before I could justify the expense. I wear a G shock as a beater.
If you want something inexpensive and a bit special, might I propose an Aqualung Pro 1000 Helium. Water resistant to 1000m, helium valve, seiko movement, all for £119 ($212). Although I don't own one this the best value diving watch I have ever seen. The famous diving company Aqualung(UK)produce a number of diving watches that utilize Seiko VX quartz movements. They produce a 200m, 500m and 1000m divers watch, £69, £75 and £119 respectively. A watch with a depth rating of 1000m would normally set you back over £800.
I'm sure with its seiko movement it will still be working when you can eventually afford a real SMP.
Best wishes
Myles
