You have a good eye in catching that error on Omega's website picture. I have a 2254.50 as well, purchased from an authorized retailer, and Omega has confirmed it is real by sending me the COSC certificate that matches my watch's serial number. Like yours, my watch's first link sits perfectly flush with the lugs.
Omega's website pictures leave a lot to be desired. I have seen watches on there pictured incorrectly with black dials and the wrong hands and labeled "white dial with diamonds".
Bottom line...your description of your watch is correct, and Omega's website picture is wrong.
