: Any body have an explanation for the following
: phenomena: I own a seamaster 300m and live
: in NY and FL. When in NY it keeps flawless
: time, when in FL it gains 1 second/day.
That is too little to be considered a real effect. In other words, what you are seeing is background "noise"...i.e. lag time in the time standard that you are using, temperature changes, motion changes etc. I most seriously doubt that a 1sec/day difference can be directly attributed to being in FL versus NY.
I have made an excel spreadsheet that I offer to anyone who asks...free. It tracks accuracy over time and makes a graph automatically. All you do is enter the following:
1)The start time/date of a timing test
2)The end time/date of a timing test
3)The error over that period of time as measured against whatever standard you are using...I suggest time.gov (and that has a lag time problem that varies!) or a radio clock that gets the signals from Boulder Colorado Time Signal.
In the big scheme of things...DO NOT WORRY about your watch performance at this time...it is running well.
Good luck,
MMC
