: Well thanks for the info Joey, that sure clears
: things up. That article about Japan only
: talks about increased presence of the Swatch
: group on Japanese markets which has noting
: to do with them being bought out by the
: Japanese. So that rumor can be put to rest!
: By I'm still kind of disappointed about that
: other article by Swiss Industry Federation
: which confirms that if only 50% of parts are
: made in switzerland, a watch movement can be
: considered "Swiss Made". I guess
: nothing is "sacred" anymore. I
: suppose that now you have to buy Patek or
: something to get 100% swiss parts? Don't get
: me wrong, I still believe in "Swiss
: Quality" even if it does contain some
: foreign parts. However, the ALL SWISS is for
: the most part just a myth anymore--what a
: shame.
While that is true, I haven't yet found out if Omega does only use 50% to "just get by". Personally, I doubt it... But, who knows???
