Omega with all it's calibres look to improve what is already a good watch. Which can be seen in the 1120 watch upgrades, and the 1150 has been upgrade several times the 2500 is now on it's 4th version the speed I think is only half the problem it's also a production problem and material problem you are right I think also it would be better in a slow train but I've also seen the prototype of a Rolex watch with the Daniels Escapement which was also a fast train (Daniels took it to Rolex before Omega but Rolex being Rolex could not see past they nose).
I think we will probably see a couple more versions as the difference between producing 1 watch to 100,000 plus is very different
