Re: Opinions on Omega 1120???
In Response To: Opinions on Omega 1120??? ()

: Thank you for the response, Georges. You are
: truly a wealth of knowledge!!! I'm curious
: to hear your opinion on the Omega 1120
: movement in my Seamasters. They run almost
: as well as my DeVille co-axial, but cost A
: LOT less. I have no Omega chronographs so I
: don't know much about the chronograph
: movements you described, but I am interested
: in your opinions on the "standard"
: 1120? Thank you.

A reference among movement is the 1120 better than the eta 2892-a2 version found in the IWCs and in the corums. In fact it is based on the legendary eta 2892-a2 but it is so heavily modified that I would consider it as almost in house. What are the modifiaction made by Omega? Two additional jewels in the winding system as well as smaller rotor balls (titanium), very specific rotor, nivarox far hairspring, rhodium plated finish, fausse côte de genève decoration, bevelled bridges and cosc certification. That caliber is the base calibre of the coaxial 2500, it is a true, tried and tested movment which holds very well the comparison with rolex movements and which is a marvel of accuracy and quality for the price.
