I have been away diving for a while in arguably one of the best diving spots in the world - Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. Yes, the place that was bombed.
Thought I'd share my relief that our party was not affected. Many others are however and to those I wish my best, including the amazing Egyptian people.
Very sad that the first day we were there terrorists set of those bombs. Not a nice experience. I won't drag on about the bad stuff, but I want to add that as dramatic an experience as it was being amidst all that I found it even more worrying that Col. Gadaffi of Libya stayed in the same hotel as my family.
One does not expect that every day seeing as Reagan called him 'the Mad Dog of the Middle East' and there are bombs going off nearby.
All in all a strange break in the sun. I'll remember it, but I hope for the right reasons.
PS: I am still a bit shell shocked by all the events so sorry if my post isn't as spiffy as it could be.
