Ease of dial reading

I've narrowed my search down to a Speedmaster Date (after experimenting with a few of my vintage watches, I concluded I cannot live without the date) with either white or black face. I wonder if any of the Speedmaster owners here have some thoughts on which is the more easily readable color choice?
