: I really appreciate your advice John. When i
: contacted Omega US customer service he
: indicated that they no longer carry this
: model. The ebay picture has serial number.
: with the serial number can you get the
: history on this watch.
If the watch has been serviced by an authorized Omega service center, then service records would exist. If not, then all you can do is contact Omega with the serial number to verify authenticity. You can contact Omega customer service at aftersales@omega.ch.
:The ebay price is
: also below 40% msrp. that is what attracted
: me to this watch. Do you know of any other
: website where i can find recent not brand
: new watch similar models.
The best advice I can give you is to look through the listings here on the ChronoTrader sales forum, the Sales Corner at www.timezone.com, the sales forum at www.watchuseek.com, and the sales listings at www.watchnet.com. All of these sites allow for free "for sale" and "wanted to buy" listings, so if you want to buy a particular watch you can list the model as "wanted to buy" in your post and see if someone contacts you.
As for the watch on ebay, I would make sure that the seller puts it in writing that he will give you a full refund if you take the watch to a local Omega retailer and it turns out to be fake. If he refuses to do so, you know he's hiding something, so run, don't walk, away from the auction. Good luck!!!
