Often when a watch suddenly starts to run very fast or very slow it is the result of the watch having become magnetized. You may have inadvertently brought the watch into contact with a magnetic object and not known it. If this is the case, it is a very quick and relatively inexpensive repair. It won't be covered under warranty, though, since it was not the result of a mechanical defect in the watch itself.
