I don't have any scratches on the crystal of my PO, but I do notice that it is more difficult (need to rub harder and longer to remove smudges and stains from water drops than it is from a crystal without the coating. OTH, I never experienced this with the Crosswind Racing (Breitling) that I used to own -- they must use a different coating.
