Hi
Reminds me of an old discussion I had with someone on another forum.
Seiko was always a middle of the range brand. And even in the 70's the grand seiko's were never able to match the quality of Omega products, never.
Comparing Seiko with Omega is like comparing Nissan with Cadillac.
The movements of seiko even the springdrive are averagely finished. The coaxial watches has an extremely well finished movement and a guarantee of three years.Seiko movements aren't cosced and the Grand Seikos are not sold worldwide not in Europe probably in USA and in Asia but in Europe people buy more Omega or Rolex than Seikos.
The movement of the Aqua Terra itself is better than the Grand Seiko movement on nay aspect. The case of the Omega is better finished and more sober than the Seiko's case.
The Omega bracelet is a reference in terms of comfort and solidity, the Grand Seiko has a cheap copy of the Oyster braclet and I don't feel secure about the clasp.
The dial on the Omega is cleaner and more sober.
The Omega is water resistant to 150m dunno about Seiko.
Warranty is three years with the Omega dunno about Seiko.
Precision is stunning out of the box with the Omega not the case with the Seiko.
Conclusion is that Omega status is justified and the price of the watch is justified as well.
regards
georges
