: There is great advice coming from all of you. I

: feel that there must be great watches out
: there for around $300 and all of you have
: given me a few more brands to compare.
: Tissot has been mentioned a few times. Are

: watch makers?

I do feel that Swiss watches are the best, and with Tissot you're getting a well made watch from the same company that owns Omega. A sapphire crystal is also very practical since it is all but impossible to scratch (unlike cheaper plastic or mineral crystals). Sapphire crystals also cost more, which is why Bulova and Citizen tend not to use them. Like I said, it's hard to get more "bang for the buck" than Tissot when looking in your price range.
