Omega USA Parts Stocking

Just FYI...I've had my Bond SMP at my local Omega retailer/watchmaker for over 3 weeks now. I took it in for a bezel replacement and a polishing. Anyway, I was wondering what was taking so long, and when I called they told me that Omega USA didn't have the bezel in stock and will not order it directly from Switzerland. Omega USA told my watchmaker that they wait until they have a large parts order and only THEN will they place an order with Switzerland. Needless to say, I told my watchmaker to forget the bezel replacement and just "hurry up and polish the watch" so I can have it back.

This situation has me quite annoyed because Omega USA told me directly over the phone that they will only sell replacement parts to an authorized retailer, not directly to me (the consumer). They wouldn't even give me a price over the phone. Now I find out that they don't even keep a sufficient quantity of parts in stock. Further, the Bond SMP is their best selling model. Logically it would make sense for them to keep as many spare parts around for that watch as they could. It looks like their customer service hasn't improved much by moving the facility from PA to NJ.
