elgin and hamilton made some nice pocket watches

: That's great Georges. My great grandfather's
: 1906 Elgin runs about -20 seconds a day
: after its last servicing and my
: railraod-certified 1942 Hamilton 992B runs
: about -30 seconds a day but doesn't get
: wound very often. My least accurate is a
: key-wind Elgin made in 1881 which loses
: about a minute a day. It is great fun to
: wear the old watches once in a while and
: leave my Omega on the shelf. I especially
: enjoy wearing the 1881 Elgin with cowboy
: boots, as it was manufactured the same year
: as the famous gunfight in tombstone.
Hamilton, Elgin and Illinois made some of the nicest pocket watches during the late 19th century and the mid 30's. They can be very very accurate.I really love the finish of those old movements, fabulous finish I think and movements were in house. Pocket watches are cool and it is not without reason that Zenith, Breguet and Ulysse Nardin still manufacture them.I also have a Longines of 1895 but this one will need a repair, one day I will give it to service.
Enjoy your watches.
