Geez - an honest, interesting thread about the authenticity of Omega watches this long, and no sign of Wolverine?? Hmmm... it's September 9th... His junior high school must be back in session now. Either that, or the newest issue of Playbody hit the stands, and he's drooling over the pictures...
Being an employee of a large, convoluted trans-national corporation with many separate divisions located all over the globe, my 2 cents is that this is a question which probably doesn't have a simple answer. I suspect there there are multiple versions of the truth, depending on who you talk to within the Swatch group. I've known of examples where Division Managers and Vice Presidents didn't have a clue about their own supply chain, and in that situation how is it possible for some outsider to have the ability to know for sure what the real story is??
Inside my own head, all of this has ZERO effect on my satisfaction with my Ti SeMP, which has already been dunked in two oceans and banged around on most of the standing rigging on two sailboats, and is going to wind up permanently located (with me)on a boat in the Caribbean in a year or two.
