I don't like these Seiko movements. I am not convinced of their reliability. My watchmaker says that the kinetic is something that is not very great and that loses value with years. He also said that parts for certain Seiko movements are unavailable in Europe. I haven't seen Grand Seiko in Europe and in the U.S as well. The most baught firms in Euope and in the US in the luxury market are Omega, Rolex, Breitling and Panerai. Seiko is a very common and middle of the range brand. Grand Seiko or Credor, a Seiko is a Seiko.
I would rather trust an oysterquartz or a mequaquartz chronometer than a springdive.
The review says one thing but the market and the buyres says another. People buy what is reknown and reliable an taht have a strong prestige connotation and history. I found also springdive design very ugly and it lacks soberty and prestige of high end swiss watches.
