: I don't like these Seiko movements. I am not
: convinced of their reliability. My
: watchmaker says that the kinetic is
: something that is not very great and that
: loses value with years. He also said that
: parts for certain Seiko movements are
: unavailable in Europe. I haven't seen Grand
: Seiko in Europe and in the U.S as well. The
: most baught firms in Euope and in the US in
: the luxury market are Omega, Rolex,
: Breitling and Panerai. Seiko is a very
: common and middle of the range brand. Grand
: Seiko or Credor, a Seiko is a Seiko.
: I would rather trust an oysterquartz or a
: mequaquartz chronometer than a springdive.
: The review says one thing but the market and
: the buyres says another. People buy what is
: reknown and reliable an taht have a strong
: prestige connotation and history. I found
: also springdive design very ugly and it
: lacks soberty and prestige of high end swiss
: watches.
Why can't a company have several entirely different product lines? If a Seiko is always just a Seiko, why isn't a Brueget just a Swatch or a Porche just a Vw? If the differences between the product lines are real, then Seiko may have something. To me that is the significant question.
