This thread has caused me do some reading on the spring drive. I came to 2 conclusions. 1) The 600mm is huge. I really like it and if it was a normal size...about 40mm I would consider buying one. 2) It's new technology but it seems like they have been working on it for some time. I'm convinced it will work...but the question is how well, and is it worth a $3000 gamble? Time will tell.

PS I hope I did this right...it's my first post!
: I would never buy the first generation of any
: new technology (Seiko spring drive),
: especially when it is just a luxury item.
: Just my opinion.
: I would not have bought a coaxial when they
: were new either. I may get one next
