Reliability of Seamaster Professionals

In reading through Posts on warranty work, I thought it might be helpful to have some perspective on how often people actually *need* it. Any experience out there w/ problems on the model 2541.80 or related "James Bond" watches? Also: I know there are certain things I can do to ensure long life for my car (regular oil changes); is there any recommended maintenance schedule for these watches? Will that differ by movement type, quartz, automatic?
