Reading what you wrote about the emotional side of this, Don, I gotta confess that I was feeling EXACTLY that "why didn't I do this sooner?" thing Friday afternoon. I had both a 2541.80 and a 2551.80 on at varying points during a visit to the local jewelery store over lunch. I've always felt uncomfortable in ANY watch band (mostly carry pocket watches or use the clock on my Treo 650). But this felt better than any I'd experienced.
If there are any thoughts on bands and such, I'd like to hear them. I don't like the slide-up-and-down-my-arm bracelet thing. Buckle bands don't serve me any better, and I don't imagine "twist-o-flex" is an option! A friend lent me a Timex Expedition that looked, frankly, closer to the Seamaster than you'd think for a $50 watch (for a presentation I was doing at Notre Dame). He'd fixed weatherproofing of some sort inside the band, and it was surprisingly comfortable and didn't slide around. I told him he should patent it.
