Re: Serial number look-up
In Response To: Re: Serial number look-up ()

: I understand; thank you. It's not a grey market
: issue, so much as a grey matter (I tend to
: be anal about double checking numbers and
: details as they relate to such things, and
: this number is actually on the case of the
: watch itself). I saw on Chronocentric that
: Omega had something online, so I thought it
: would be easy enough just to look into. But
: that must be old information, because I have
: been quite frustrated trying to find it up
: to this point. On the other hand, learned a
: lot of stuff about other Omega watches that
: I never would have inquired about
: otherwise....

: John, you've really been great. Thank you SO
: MUCH for everything, your sharing and speed,
: over these past few days. Take care.

: PS On another matter, the next James Bond movie
: is slated for release (currently) for the
: fall of 2006. I understand Omega is already
: on board. What do you speculate the chances
: are for another special "007" logo
: version of the Seamaster (or whatever Omega
: Q-Branch issues)?

The last one (in 2002) was to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Bond films (1962-2002). It's possible that in 2012 they'll make a 50th Anniversary watch, assuming Omega is still supplying Bond with his watch by then. Maybe even a 45th one in 2007, though I doubt there will be a Bond film released that year to spark any interest in it (unless this one gets delayed yet again).

Right now the speculation is on what watch Bond will wear in the next film - the same 2531.80 SMP, a new Omega with a co-axial movement, a new brand (shudder at the thought!!!!)....
