Sorry I'm coming into this thread a bit late... a really good thread, so I suspect there's no objection to injecting a little more life into it. ;-)

If Omega is now having ETA make the modifications that Omega would usually apply themselves, then Omega uses a pure ETA movement. Is that a drawback? Well, I think it's quite proven that ETA movements are of very high quality.

I guess the main question I have is, can you buy a watch with an ETA movement very close to what is made for Omega, with a casing of similar quality level, but for a much lower price? If so, what would that brand be? Bell & Ross perhaps? If there is no watch brand/model like that, then there should be no hesitation to continue buying Omega timepieces.
