Caliber 27,96??

Hi,

I was recently given an Omega watch. Through the help of the Omega website, I have learned that it is a rare manual wind watch created in 1917 with mine being made in 1919 (thanks to the serial number). I have no real interest in selling it, but would like to learn more about the history of this particular caliber...like perhaps the designer's name? I will paste in the lines from the Omega vintage watch information people here too:
"The movement number you
mentioned is corresponding to a rare Omega manual winding caliber 27,96 x 4,7
(also called 27,96 or 27,9), with 15 jewels, created in 1917. This particular
one was produced in 1919".

I'm unclear on how to read all of these things, but I'm having trouble finding anything else about this watch!!! I can't believe that I would be in possession of something that is excedingly rare, am I? Thanks for your help!
