George, thanks very much for your detailed reply. Obviously, I didn't have a clue... I thought that a brand like Omega would pick a highly desirable movement to start with. I guess ETA might be doing some aspects of the movement at a high precision and quality level, but missing the mark in others... and perhaps Omega was taking on the charge of correcting what was deficient or undesirable. Plausible?
But you've given me some good food for thought. I'm going to be very selective in what movement I choose for my next Omega. I appreciate your testimony of preferences by movement type (manual, automatic, chronograph).
